The Discovery/Eurosport team in Norway selected our FanBot chatbot product and LViS interaction platform to help launch their fresh new coverage of Norway's top soccer league, the Eliteserien.
Together we launched a world-first, driving thousands of Norwegian fans to Eurosport's Facebook Messenger bot to receive exclusive highlights clips, games and prizes.
THE ENGAGEMENT CHALLENGE
As the new official broadcaster for Norway's most popular soccer league, Eurosport Norway had both an opportunity and a challenge.
The commercial opportunity to convert fans to subscribers was clear, but with only a select few games freely available on their sister TV channel, the challenge was how to create regular engagement outside of TV in order to encourage subscription sign-ups.
Using FanBot, our leading Facebook Messenger chatbot, Eurosport were able to deliver a global first: giving football fans regular personalised catch-up clips made specially for each of them.
The level of subscription and engagement was incredible, with a third of total users choosing to be automatically sent their clips every week.

To continue the engagement with each user FanBot delivered regular news content, collected from Eurosport’s news CMS, ensuring the fan was kept up-to-date with all of the relevant latest news and previews.
As the season progressed, the chatbot offered fans the chance to predict on match results, for each of the games every week. Points were awarded for successful predictions and fans with the most points ranked on the weekly leaderboards.
